The company has been geared to IT expenditure from the Japanese financial industry. Given our view that tougher times are ahead for Japanese banks, we would anticipate that spend on IT projects will slow, feeding down to demand for Nomura's services.
Nomura Research Institute. As a leading IT systems provider, NRI is positioned well for the heavy IT investment required within Japan's corporate world, most notably amongst financials. They are experiencing particularly strong system development demand from internet securities firms and others. Earnings visibility looks good, with first half earnings robust and margins expanding.
